ICC FraudNet has released its latest Global Annual Report, which contains original papers written by legal and asset recovery specialists from FraudNet’s global network, and strategic partners.
The comprehensive report offers invaluable insights into emerging fraud trends and provides solutions and innovations to tackle fraud and the challenges of asset recovery in different jurisdictions.
It is designed to help shape understanding and build knowledge in this increasingly complex, transnational subject matter.
The report is titled "Fraud Frontiers: Emerging Threats and Innovative Solutions in Fraud and Asset Recovery” and builds on FraudNet’s growing repository of original scholarly and practitioner contributions since the publication of the first report in 2021.
The report is released against a backdrop of ongoing conflicts, global tensions, and economic and political uncertainties. The Covid-19 pandemic has shown how such volatile conditions can exacerbate the scope and impact of fraud.
It features 25 original papers by 42 authors from 20 jurisdictions, with unique perspectives from those actively engaged in high-profile and complex fraud and asset recovery cases.
These contributions are designed to be practically relevant, serving the broader FraudNet and International Chamber of Commerce networks, strategic partners, professional collaborators, and current and future clients.
The report delves into a range of critical themes, including:
* Securing assets in fraud-based arbitrations.
* Sanctions compliance and the complexities of sanctions frameworks.
* Law and practice relating to secrecy orders.
* Jurisdiction-specific insights on the enforcement of foreign judgments.
* Developments in anti-money laundering and counterterrorism financing standards.
* Analyses of cybercrime and ransomware attacks.
* The role of law enforcement in asset tracing investigations.
* Cryptocurrency fraud and virtual assets in asset recovery.
* Use of artificial intelligence in investigations.
* Expanding scope of fraud legislation affecting corporations.
The report also examines recent cases and their implications for the field, providing expert perspectives that are both informative and instructive.
As with previous editions, this year’s report showcases the breadth and depth of expertise within the FraudNet network. Its international scope and reach make it a vital resource for those tackling the transnational nature of fraud and its aftermath.
ICC FraudNet is a worldwide network of leading lawyers who specialise in fraud, international asset tracing and recovery.
